1066 and the Normans
In 1066, William of Normandy brought new families and a new political, social, and military structure to England. It changed everything there, and Scotland soon felt that impact as well. By 1200, feudalism and English feudal families roared into Scotland, introducing a new, non-Celtic family structure.
