Scotland has its share of castles, brochs, peles, tower houses, and mansions. From the Celts come brochs and hill-forts. From the Anglo-Normans come feudal castles and tower houses. And from the 17th century onward, there are mansions and houses of a quiet and more prosperous nature. Together they provide a wealth of living history.
