Presbyterianism

Presbyterianism

Presbyterianism was the 16th-century reformed Christian movement which would sweep through Scotland's east and south. It was particularly successful in the towns and villages of the emerging money economy. By 1600, Presbyterianism would be a vibrant and aggressive religious movement which by 1639 would defy the monarchy and which through the Covenanters would seek to convert all of Britain to Calvinism.
