Baronetcies
A baronetcy can be described as an honor or a title granted by the monarch to a worthy subject who thereafter would be known as Sir _____ and Lady _____. While it is a hereditary title, it is not a title of nobility as such. Rather, it is a hereditary knighthood. In Scotland, there are still such titles dating from before 1707, some of which carry the "of Nova Scotia" designation.
